Children’s Museum of Lake Charles
“We are thrilled to have industry, a vital part of our Southwest Louisiana economy, represented in our museum alongside other local businesses. The Chem Corner exhibit will help familiarize children with STEM fields and the diverse careers brought to our area by industrial leaders in our community. ” –Dan Ellender, Executive Director, Children’s Museum of Lake Charles
Since the Children’s Museum of Lake Charles opened in 1988, staff has worked to teach kids about careers and local businesses. Almost 30 years later, the museum has nearly 50 hands-on exhibits. Sasol and the Lake Charles Children’s Museum together recently opened the museum’s newest exhibit–Chem Corner. The exhibit offers visitors a glimpse into daily life at an industrial facility and aims to help children learn about local industry and stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
